We are pleased to announce three weeks of Nike Swim and ELS Language camp at the popular San Domenico location this summer.

The camp, directed by Head Swim Coach Gadi Shamah, is designed to help competitive swimmers improve their stroke technique.  In addition, international swimmer will improve their English speaking skills and confidence by participating in ELS language classes offered daily Monday-Friday.  The ELS program is completely integrated into the Nike Swim camp program and expands on the sport experience.

Gadi Shamah

Directing camp this summer is Gadi Shamah, Head Swim Team Coach at San Domenico School.

Gadi received a Bachelors of Arts from Dominican University in San Rafael, California. A native of Marin County, Gadi has strong connections to the swimming community in the area. Gadi swam with the Marin Pirates, Marin Water Polo and at Terra Linda High School.

After serving in the US Marine Corps, Gadi returned to swimming as a coach and mentor. Gadi has over twelve years of coaching experience and an ASCA Level 4/3 certification. He is rated in the top 15% of coaches nationally. Gadi has spent the majority of his professional career coaching multiple levels, including Learn-to-Swim programs, Head Coaching Summer League programs, Head Coaching for Drake High School (4th place at NCS 2006), two years coaching U.S. National Qualifiers at Marin Pirates, interning with Australian National and Olympic Trials Qualifiers (with Coach Rick Curl), Head Coach at the Presidio Aquatic Club, Head Coach of Piranha Swimming a year round USA Swim Team.

Gadi was most recently the Director of Aquatics and Manager of a premier swim and tennis club in San Francisco. Gadi lives in Kentfield with his wife, Sarah, and two sons, Nicos and Teodor. 

Camp Details

All Inclusive Tuition

The prices listed below include all Nike Swim Training, ELS English Language instruction and materials, on-campus housing, 3 meals a day, round trip airport transfers, weekend stayover(s), and predetermined activities.

Nike Swim Camp Philosophy

Play the sport you love and get better this summer with our excellent Nike Swim Camp staff of veteran coaches. On the first day campers are evaluated in the pool and placed into smaller groups based on their age and ability. 5 hours of pool time per day. Competitive swimmers welcome.  10:1 athlete, coach ratio. Training includes excellent professional coaching, pool sessions, dryland drills, and stroke specific training.

ELS Language Classes

Gain confidence in your conversational English skills. Classes focus on communication skills with their new friends at camp and in the pool. All levels welcome. Campers are evaluated at the first class and group according to skill. Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced level groups. General English practice with professional ELS Instructors. Ten 50-minute lessons per week. Monday – Friday afternoons (see detailed sample schedule under More Details.)

Check In & Check Out

Check-in is always on a Sunday. The last day of a session is on a Friday.

Accommodation & Roommates

Prep School Dorm Rooms. 2 campers to 1 room. Shared bathroom. American roommate if requested.

Linens and Laundry

Bed sheets, pillow, and towel provided. Onsite laundry facilities available. No charge.


Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included everyday expect check-in and check-out days. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated if alerted before camp.

Weekday Activities

On and off-campus evening activities planned Monday – Thursday, and include trips to baseball game, ice cream, shopping, and more.  

Weekends & Trips

Explore San Francisco! Weekend activities provided for weekend campers to enjoy new friends, see new sites, and practice English! See attached calendar.

Airport Transfers

Round-trip airport transfers provided from San Francisco International Airport. Provide flight itinerary when registering or at least 3 weeks prior to camp start date. UM service available providing ample notice is given. 

Medical Insurance

For an additional $60, add supplemental health coverage. On-site school nursed and trainers available for on-site injuries. You must be medically insured while at camp. If your health insurance will not cover you while in America, you must find alternative coverage whether that is the one US Sports Camps provides or otherwise.  

Wi-Fi & Communication

Wi-Fi access in common areas and dorm rooms available to campers. Camp office provides computer access for Skype and Email.

After Registering

A detailed camper welcome packet containing health & release forms, emergency contact info, and a packing list will be emailed to all registered campers in Spring 2017. Our health and release forms require a doctor's signature and will be collected on the first day of camp. International campers must have health insurance valid in the US in order to attend camps.


Founded in 1850, San Domenico is an independent co-educational (pre-K through Grade 12) day and boarding school located on 200 hectares in San Anselmo, California. The campus features state-of-the-art academic facilities, a music conservatory, riding stables, swimming pool, gymnasium and six tennis courts. Located in Marin County, San Anselmo is eight kilometers from Central San Rafael and 26 kilometers north from downtown San Francisco. California’s beautiful Napa and Sonoma counties and the northern coastline and beaches are within a 50-minute drive.
