Ted A. Broer Stadium

Firestadium.jpg

The Nike Baseball Campers will train during this week of camp at Southeastern's home field, the Ted A. Broer Stadium. This state of the art baseball facility mimics a smaller version of Fenway Park, the home of the Boston Red Sox.

Broer Stadium was designed by Southeastern Athletics Director, Duane Aagaard, and former Southeastern baseball coach, Frank Yurchak.  The two also received help from the New York Yankees grounds crew, with the end the result being one of the finest college baseball parks in the State of Florida.

The field’s name is in honor of Dr. Ted A. Broer, a world renown international author and founder of Health Masters. Dr. Broer is a major donor to Southeastern, and was given an honorary doctorate from the university in 2004.

The Fire has a 185-63 record at Broer Stadium since opening in 2004. The first game played was on April 7, 2004, as Webber International University defeated SEU, 7-5.

Southeastern’s first victory came against Florida Memorial University, on April 15, 2004, as Eric Haynes earned the win on the mound for SEU.

In August 2004, Southeastern would hire Head Coach Jason Beck, and the Fire would win its first national championship in baseball as Broer Stadium hosted the 2005 NCCAA II National Tournament.

From 2005-2008, Broer Stadium hosted four consecutive NCCAA II National Tournaments. During that span, the Fire won all four NCCAA II National Titles, and compiled a perfect 17-0 record in national tournament play.

In 2010, the Fire joined the NAIA’s Sun Conference and hosted their first Sun Conference game on February 26, 2010. Southeastern lost a close game to Embry-Riddle University, 7-6.

The Fire’s first home Sun Conference victory came versus Edward Waters College on March 19, 2010. Justin Mauldin earned the victory on the mound while Tyler Ruehlman, Hector Echemendia, and Auburn Donaldson all collected three hits apiece.

Southeastern won 16 straight games at Broer Stadium during the 2011 season, to set a new school record. The Fire ended the year with a 20-5 mark at home, while earning their first ever national ranking within the NAIA.

    Learned alot!

July 21, 2017: I was a bit nervous because Lane is very involved in travel ball, that it may not be at his level. I was completely wrong! He came home each night saying how much fun he had and how much he was learning!! Today, he did an amazing thing. All week he worked hard for a prize. A prize for a middle school student typically doesn't mean as much as to younger kids, but Lane wanted it bad and worked hard all 4 days. He got a prize today which was a nice baseball cap, but found out another little boy there from another country didn't have a hat. The little boy wanted one badly, and my son gave his hat to him! WOW!! What an amazing experience!! I was so proud of him and so proud that he had this opportunity to not only play baseball with a group of great kids and coaches, but he got to bless someone. The kid who received his hat could not have been more excited. Coaching staff was excellent and well organized!! Thank you Thank you Thank you!!

    Knowledgeable coaching styaff

July 20, 2017: From day one all coaches were welcoming to my son and myself. They all were well knowledge in the techniques that were being thought. They made sure all the kid were include, learning and most of having fun. The only thing my son would have wanted was for it to have been longer. He was sad that it ended today. I would like to take a minute to thank you and the coaches for providing this for my 6 year old son who has grown to love this sport so very much.

    Great camp

July 20, 2017: Great camp for all ages! My son is 5 and enjoyed every minute. The coaches took the time and effort to teach skills and incorporate fun in to each activity. As a parent and coach, I learned a lot myself just watching the coaches teach and feel I will be better prepared to teach kids on our league!

    Individual Attention

"I was impressed that the coaches worked with us individually. At other camps it was almost always as a group. They covered everything about baseball and even introduced me to some new strength training exercises. I enjoyed the camp very much."
